FINAL PIECE
Why?
I took a trace from every artist/ photographer I researched and made it my own work from theirs. These traces all compile to create my final piece. The Boyle Famiy's trace of texture is so key. Aaron Siskind's trace of layers allows me to develop this piece. Judit Karasz's use of materials inspired my use of mesh. And Christian Schad's photograms encouraged my work in the darkroom. Finally Aldo's use of circles in the "Cell series" (as if the images were being seen a microscope) furthered my use of the enlarger.
Plans
How?
1st The Darkroom
Using the lenor tumble dryer sheet in the enlarger I will creating 20 photographs, then I will create a negative with a clump of spikey, sparkly hay and place it in the enlarger and create 20 images from that. Next I will place the lenor tumble dryer sheet in the enlarger and the hay over the paper, like a photogram, 8 times. Finally I will place the sheet then hay in the glass, slide it into the enlarger and create 15 photos.
2nd Acetate & Tracing Paper
The next step required me to scan in all my darkroom images to edit them all to black and whit, then I inverted them and levelled them. Finally I printed them on acetate and tracing paper.
3rd Circles
I cut all the photos into circles; sized extra small, small, medium and large. After that they will be pinned onto the wall in the style of plan 1. Finally string may be added, it would represent how there's a traces from every artist and photographer everywhere in my final piece.
